New Ringer story: The Evolution of Paige Bueckers
She returned to UConn to chase an elusive national title. To win it, she’ll have to become someone new on the court.
Friends, I am happy to share my newest story for The Ringer, a profile of Paige Bueckers. It is really a story about change, growth, resilience. I went to Storrs, Conn., earlier this year to report it out, and I’m happy it’s out now just ahead of the new college hoops season, although we touch on current WNBA discourse, too. She has been through a lot, but what I respect most is her capacity and willingness to keep challenging herself—to try to morph into something that isn’t as comfortable for her: being more selfish. Being what she calls “The Killer.” It isn’t easy when all her life she has been “The Giver.” While she was a wonderful interview, I also really enjoyed talking to coach Geno Auriemma. Neither minced words.

And please preorder my new book on Hakeem Olajuwon, coming out October 15! It really helps authors and booksellers. Stores will know to stock it because there is interest: https://www.amazon.com/Dream-Life-Legacy-Hakeem-Olajuwon/dp/030683118X
oh, the new book is coming out so soon! Congratulations! Loved the Giannis book. I remember Hakeem's prime but feel like I know even less about him than I did about Giannis, so I'm really looking forward to reading.
