The Twins Who Went From “Best-Kept Secrets” to Likely NBA Lottery Picks
New story at The Ringer is on Amen and Ausar Thompson of Overtime Elite
Hi everyone! Here’s my newest feature for The Ringer. It’s on Amen and Ausar Thompson of Overtime Elite. Their lives are about to change, as they’ll likely be drafted to different NBA teams. It will be another adjustment as they make their own ways in the world and continue to find their own identities.
I wanted to write a profile that dignified their individual identities AND explored how close, how supportive, they are of each other. I spent about a week in Atlanta reporting on this, and had a blast. I hope you enjoy it.

I’ve been working on a lot at one time right now so it’s been hard to read as much as I normally do. However, I had pre-ordered Matthew Desmond’s new book, Poverty, by America. His last book, Evicted, really influenced me in the way that I strive to tell stories. If you look at his end notes at the end of Evicted you’ll learn more about his reporting process and will find so many gems of how to report and write deeply human and important journalism. I can’t wait to read his newest.
